Film capital of the world Los Angeles, provides a good other activity in the Hollywood area for the attendees of the ESFNA 2006 in LA.
Hollywood, apart from the big sign on the mountain (which can be seen from Little Ethiopia) offers Hollywood Blvd (the one with the stars on the sidewalk) and Sunset Blvd to cruise in a car.
Hollywood is 8 minutes away from Little Ethiopia, and about 15 minutes from LA Coliseum.

Entertainment Capital
Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world, and it shares the title of the cultural capital of the United States with New York City. Its largest entertainment industry is film production, but it is an important center for music, art, and architecture as well. Some of the most notable cultural institutions include the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Getty Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), the Museum of Neon Art (MONA), the Skirball Cultural Center. There are also numerous smaller art galleries West Hollywood and Santa Monica - a noteworthy one is the only permanently standing Ethiopian Art Gallery in America "Addis Art" located on Pico Blvd.
Stop by:
Kodak Theatre -Academy Awards home
Hollywood Bowl
Grauman's Chinese Theatre
Chinese Theatre
Many people visit this theater not to see first-run motion pictures, but to gaze at the famous hand and footprints outside. It's a quintessential L.A. tourist ritual and well worth the trip. The theater itself is one of the oldest and largest in town. The screen is massive and the sound is top-notch.
Cruisn' on Sunset Blvd
Length: 30min - 1 hour*

Sunset Blvd is great for cruising in your car and seeing the hollywood area. It takes 30 mins - 1 hour to go up and down the strip and take it all in. There are Starbucks on the way you can lengthen your cruise by stopping by one of them.

Ethio LA 3 Note:
Most of the L. A. sights are free, and we encourage you to schedule these trips around meal and match times. As the attendants spending is the engine behind ESFNA and the communities that host the yearly event we encourage you to attend matches (without match attendees ESFNA suffers) and to eat your meals either in the stadium from our vendors or in Little Ethiopia (our service providers survival and growth depends on your generous spending). |
