Santa Monica Beach is located 12 minutes from Little Ethiopia and 20 minutes from LA Coliseum.
The beach is ideal for swimming, bathing in the sun, bike trails, rollerblading and also it has an amusment park that stays open until late in the evening.
Santa Monica also has a 3 city blocks blocked off for pedestrain traffic, with many shops such as Gucci, Old Navy, Armani... and 2 movie theatres which are popular destinations.

Home of the famous Santa Monica Pier with its historic carousel and more recently added Pacific Park amusement park, the outdoor, pedestrian-oriented Third Street Promenade, the panoramic coastline and beach, beautiful parks, more than 400 restaurants, scores of art galleries, theaters and performance spaces, four distinct shopping districts and outstanding accommodations from economy to luxury.
Santa Monica is known locally for its progressive politics, including policies that address the needs of renters, consumers, and the homeless. Residents of the city are among the largest contributors in the nation to Democratic Party candidates. Because of its political leanings the city has been jocularly labeled The People's Republic of Santa Monica and "Soviet Monica". The city was well known for its strict rent control ordinance, which had been enacted in 1978 and was partially overriden by state law in 1999. Santa Monica is sometimes called the "Homeless Capital of the West" due to the presence of the third largest homeless population in Los Angeles County (after Downtown Los Angeles and Hollywood), a large number of whom are teenaged runaways ; satirist Harry Shearer calls it "The home of the homeless."
